A Garden Begins with Curiosity

An introduction to Orris’s Garden Almanac

Every garden has a story, and some of the best begin with a little curiosity.

At Hedge & Hollow, we believe a garden should be more than a collection of plants. It should be a place to discover, experiment, welcome wildlife, and watch something small grow into something wonderful.

Orris, our resident garden cat, knows there’s always something worth investigating. A new leaf unfurling, an unexpected visitor among the flowers, or a shrub quietly changing with the seasons—there’s a world of wonder tucked into even the smallest garden.

Here in the Garden Almanac, we’ll explore the plants that bring our gardens to life, from dependable perennials and beautiful shrubs to pollinator favorites and unusual botanical treasures. Along the way, you’ll find seasonal gardening advice, growing tips, plant inspiration, and a little folklore rooted in the natural world.

Whether you’re planning your first flower bed or adding something new to a garden you’ve tended for years, there’s always more to learn and discover.

So take a moment, wander a little, and see where the garden leads. Orris is already on the trail.

There’s always something stirring beneath the leaves.
