About This Plant
Crisp green foliage edged in bright white creates a fresh, eye-catching display that lights up shaded gardens year-round. This spreading evergreen sedge forms a dense carpet of graceful, arching leaves, making it an excellent choice for borders, woodland gardens, containers, and erosion control. Tough, adaptable, and low maintenance, it brings lasting color and texture to places where many plants struggle.
Planting & Care
How to Plant
Choose a spot with morning sun or dappled shade, out of hot afternoon sun. Dig a hole twice as wide as the pot and plant at the same depth it was growing, gently loosening the roots. Water deeply after planting and add 2–3 in of mulch, keeping it off the stems. Hardy in USDA zones 5-8.
Watering & Feeding
Water deeply 1–2 times a week for the first season, about 1 in per week. Keep soil evenly moist, especially during heat and dry spells. Rarely needs fertilizer; a layer of compost in spring is plenty.
Pruning & Seasonal Care
Evergreen: don't cut back hard. Comb out or trim tattered leaves in spring. Mulch in late fall to protect roots through the first winter.
