About This Plant
A low-growing rose that brings big, cheerful color without taking over the garden. Rich pink blooms keep appearing in waves from spring through fall, creating a lively carpet of color over deep green foliage. Its spreading habit makes it especially useful along borders, over slopes, in containers, or planted in groups where you want a generous sweep of blooms. Bees also enjoy its open flowers.
Planting & Care
How to Plant
Choose a spot with 6+ hours of direct sun. Dig a hole twice as wide as the pot. In colder zones, set the graft (knobby base) 1–2 in below the soil. Allow good air flow around the plant. Water deeply after planting and add 2–3 in of mulch, keeping it off the stems. Hardy in USDA zones 5-10.
Watering & Feeding
Water deeply 1–2 times a week for the first season, about 1 in per week. Keep soil evenly moist, especially during heat and dry spells. Water at the base, not the leaves. Feed with rose fertilizer in spring and after the first flush of blooms; stop 6–8 weeks before your first frost.
Pruning & Seasonal Care
Prune in early spring when forsythia blooms, removing dead, damaged and crossing canes. Deadhead spent flowers for more blooms. Mulch in late fall to protect roots through the first winter.
